2030 architects are looking for experienced enthusiastic, self motivated, skilled designers with all round technical expertise, and project management skills to join our small but experienced team in Cumbria working on a range of sustainable projects. Initially you will be working as part of a team on commercial retrofit projects, but there will be opportunities for residential and community projects both retrofit and new build.
You will ultimately be responsible for delivery of your own projects and for dealing directly with clients, planning officers and other design consultants. You will be expected to make site visits throughout Cumbria and Northern England.
Currently the work force is home based and this will continue to be a major component of our work pattern for the foreseeable future, although some time in the office in Penrith will be required for training and design collaboration. Flexible working conditions are available.

Salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Skills
ARB or CIAT registered.
Experience of RIBA Stages 0-7.
5-10 years experience post qualification.
Good understanding of sustainable design.
Excellent Concept Design skills.
Excellent technical detailing skills particularly on traditional buildings.
Excellent understanding of UK planning and building regulations.
Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team across multiple projects running concurrently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confident ArchiCAD skills.
Confident Sketchup skills.
Clear understanding of contracts, and contractual roles.
Clean driving licence and own car.
Desirable
Passivhaus design experience either PHPP or Design PH
Experience with Photoshop, Twinmotion, Rhino
Experience of NBS specifications
Freehand artist
Good on site and practical construction experience.
Experience of Level 2/3 BIM
